Video amplifiers allow you to make sure that you're getting a good video signal at all viewing locations. However, don't fall into the trap that many make when installing a video amplifier. The amp needs to be installed as close to the source of the signal as possible - whether it is an antenna or cable feed, get the amplfier as far upstream as you can. Amplifying at the downstream end has the potential to simply magnify a poor signal. So instead of a good signal, you get a strong, but poor signal. Garbage in, garbage out.
