Sometimes, running infrared distribution cables through the walls just isn't practical. This is especially true if you only really need to extend the range of your remote to one additional room. In this case, wireless IR distribution may be the answer. A remote receiver in the added room receives the infrared signals from your remote control, and converts them to radio signals. A base unit receives these signals, and converts them back to IR commands to control your equipment.
